HEALTH COVID-19

Message from The Master
Brethren,

As always I pray this email finds you and your family WELL.  I realize that my last few emails have been all about the Broken Links of our Masonic Chain, but all communication can not be gloom and doom, there must also be JOY, as this is still a day that the Lord Hath Made!!!

During these trying times I pray we can get back to the ESSENCE of our Fraternity.  Although we must do it in a virtual space and time, let us remember to always be willing to extend to our Brother the grip of Fidus.  Now more than ever we must be willing to just check on all our Brothers, not necessarily for financial obligations of the Lodge (24 Square Club / Corporation) - or duties of a station and or place, but because we use that strong ACTION word called BROTHER!!!  Now before those sticklers respond about the finances, let me reassure you that YOUR Lodge (dues are always in order) and ALL its entities, very much STILL NEED your financial support, and information pertaining to that is forthcoming.  This message is more so to encourage and remind that we yet still have so much to be thankful for during these times, because we have BROTHERS we can call on!

While looking for the words to type to our members, as a Mason I was reminded of that inestimable gift from GOD to man, on which we were ALL obligated.  These divine thoughts brought me to a certain book and scripture that I would like to now share with you all:

1 Thessalonians 5

The Day of the Lord

5 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

My BROTHERS, I never claim to be a Biblical Scholar, but I do HUMBLY PRAY that this scripture that can to me, enables you to find some solace in the fact this too shall pass, and that the passing of these difficult moments - will be made easier through the fellowship and collaboration of the brotherhood.

It is in that spirit of Fellowship and Brotherly Love that I again remind you to join us this evening at 7pm (EST), if you are able, to participate in a virtual wellness check and fellowship with ALL the BROTHERS of Golden Rule Lodge #24 . . .REGARDLESS of financial status, because once again we are our Brother's Keeper.
